Why aluminum needs a different touch

Aluminum is lighter and stiffer than steel and it has less memory, so it doesn't spring back the same way. Pushed too hard it work-hardens, and pushed too fast it can crack. Repairing it without paint means smaller, slower pushes, more heat control and more time reading the panel under the light.

Many Teslas and other EVs also have batteries, wiring and sensors where a body shop would normally reach in, so access is planned before the first tool goes in.
